Rembrandt now works with ClimateCalc for sustainable printing products
More and more customers today are asking, "What is the environmental impact of my printing?" A legitimate question, because sustainability is no longer a perk, but a requirement. Rembrandt responds to this with ClimateCalc, a certified tool that allows us to accurately calculate the CO₂ emissions of each print product.
What is ClimateCalc?
ClimateCalc is a tool developed specifically for the printing industry. The system calculates the full carbon footprint of a printing order based on all relevant factors: board and ink type, energy consumption, transportation, waste disposal and more. Whenever possible, we use specific data from our own production environment. When that is not possible, ClimateCalc uses reliable, verified standard data.
Why use this tool?
With ClimateCalc, we can provide our customers with an objective and transparent footprint report. This allows them to make more conscious choices, for example for cardboard types with a lower impact. It is also possible to offset the remaining CO₂ emissions. At the same time, the tool helps us to make our own production processes more sustainable and to monitor concrete reduction targets.
A broader sustainability approach
As part of Graphius Group, we do more than just measure. We report annually on our operation and our ongoing efforts to increase our positive influence on people and the environment and to reduce our negative impact. Within our capabilities, we want to contribute as much as possible to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
